Since embarking over 25 years ago on a scientific quest to prevent, reduce, or delay the development of a range of cancers, our mission has grown tremendously in both size and scope. The work started by Dr. Paul Talalay and a small group of colleagues eventually grew into the Cullman Chemoprotection Center. A brief list of some of our main initiatives follows:
- Isolation of Sulforaphane
- Glucosinolates: Isolation, Crystallization, and Bioavailability
- Broccoli Sprouts: Delivery of Sulforaphane
- Sulforaphane is a Bactericide for Helicobacter pylori: Stomach Cancer
- Protection against Oxidative Stress and Inflammation: Skin and UV Radiation
- Protection against Oxidative Stress and Inflammation: Retina
- Protection against Oxidative Stress and Inflammation: Spinal Cord Injury
- Preventing Food-Borne Fungal and Air Pollution Toxicities in Rural China
- Amelioration of Alcohol Intolerance
